Aqua is an 82-storey residential skyscraper in Lakeshore East Development in Downtown Chicago, Illinois. As the architect of the record with James Loewenberg of Loewenberg & Associates, composed by the team led by the studio Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects, it includes five levels of underground parking.
The building's top-story, 140,000 square feet base, 83,000 square feet is the top with terraces with gardens, gazebos, pools, hot tubs, walking / running tracks and fire pit. Each floor covers approximately 16,000 square feet. Aqua was awarded the Emporis Skyscraper Award as a skyscraper for the year 2009, and she was selected for the biennial International High-Age Award in 2010. In the celebration of 2018 Illinois Bicentennial, Aqua was selected as one of the 200 Great Places by Illinois Eleventh 200 American Institute of Architects’ Illinois Element. Today was recognized by Travel Magazine.
Apart from 215 hotel rooms, 476 rental residential units, and 55,000 square feet of retail and office space in addition to the condominium units and penthouses. Aqua is the first downtown building to combine condos, apartments and hotels. Strategic Hotels and Resorts In the context of significant changes in the economic environment, after the completion of the building, the hotel agreed to the acquisition of the first 15 floors.
