Royal Chowmahalla Palace is in Nizams of Hyderabad, in the heart of Hyderabad. The grand Chowmahalla Palace is known for its unique style and elegance design next to the famous Charminar.
This place is named chowmahalla, which means there are four palaces. It is taken from possible words, because at that time it was the official language of the state of Hyderabad. All the formal functions, including the Nizams and receptions, were held for the governor-general in this palace. This palace is located in the old city of Hyderabad, with the Charminar.
UNESCO Asia Pacific Merit Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation was presented on 15th March, 2010 to the Chowmahalla Palace. UNESCO Representative Takahiko Makino formally appointed Princess Esra, former wife and GPA holder of Prince Mukarram Jah Bahadur.
The palace is unique for its style and elegance. Construction of the palace began in the late 18th century and has been the synthesis of many architectural styles and influences for decades. The palace consists of two courtyards as well as the magnificent Khilwat, fountains and gardens.
